How do you calculate a restaurant tip?
Multiply the bill amount by the tip percentage and divide by 100. For example, a 15% tip on a $60 bill is ($60 × 15) ÷ 100 = $9.00. Total bill with tip = $60 + $9 = $69.00.
How do you split a restaurant bill with tip evenly?
Add the total tip to the base bill and divide by the number of people in your party: Share per Person = (Bill + Tip) ÷ Number of People.
What is the standard tipping etiquette in the US?
For sit-down dining, 15% is standard for adequate service, 18% to 20% is customary for good service, and 22% or more is customary for exceptional service. For food delivery and bar service, $2 to $5 per order or 15% to 20% is typical.
